Today I went to go visit my grandmother (she’s actually my god grandmother, she was my grandmothers best friend since child birth and when my grandmother passed away in her early 30’s my god grandmother stepped in to take care of my mother and the rest of the family. Shes the only grandmother from this side of the family i’ve ever known, it doesn’t matter that we’re not blood, she’s my nana). She’s in a nursing home because she’s in the early stages of Alzheimer, some days she remembers us, most days we’re called different people. I wanted to visit her one more time before I move, and also I wanted to use my new camera in video mode to see how it will do.
She was very excited when I told her I could record her, she hates her picture being taken, but she wanted me to record her giving me a message before she completely forgets as the months go by. She was tickled with herself the entire time, so incredibly cute. I couldn’t stop laughing just because she was adorable and she was talking to me like I was a little kid again, I absolutely loved it. I’m really glad I could capture this moment and i’ll be able to have it with me always. Just knowing she’s proud of me, makes me feel complete.
