High-res
I was digging through all my old pictures with Sole around 5 in the morning (clearly we should be sleeping) and I came across this classic picture I took my first year at The Art Institute of Atlanta inside my dorm room over 2 years ago. This was my first “Self portrait” with my first high end camera that wasn’t a point and shoot.
Martha Cooper is the main reason why I started getting into photography. I came down south thinking that I was going to photograph Graffiti for the rest of my life. How I was so naive, thinking I could stick to my guns with that one - my interest in what I wanted to photograph definitely has changed since then. But I can give all my credit in wanting to aspire to become the photographer I am today, is thanks to Martha Cooper and her amazing story and bodies of graffiti photography throughout the 80’s.
Digging this picture up this old picture has not only humbled me, but showed me how far I have come.
