My year in pictures: 2012

Oh man, lets see if i can do this. For the last two years it was possible for me to really take pictures to capture my month-to-month since the time was available for me. But this year i’ve been a non-stop work horse so being able to capture anything at all seemed a little impossible. However, i do this for myself. I like looking back and seeing the things that i did in the past because it makes me excited for the future. Especially with how much i change with each growing year. So, without further ado, here we go.

JANUARY

My brothers and i decided to move in together. They weren’t home often enough to really live inside an apartment, and i wasn’t financially stable enough to live on my own in an apartment i rarely would be at. It was a win win situation for all parties. I moved into a studio room that was used as storage so my room now that i’ve been living in sort of resembles the inside of a toy box.

FEBRUARY

Everything was normal. I turned twenty-seven and i was still working at the comic shop. It seemed this year was going to be my most quietest.

MARCH

I found out that i was volunteering for Comic-Con this year (which was insanely awesome) and I spent a lot of my time in Philly commuting back and forth. Rufio enjoyed hopping around, i did not.

APRIL

Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, and… Work. Oh, I also started working part-time as a barista at Starbucks.

MAY

I’d like to call it the month of the dogs. It was pretty, weather was nice, and i found myself wanting to get back into my “basketball” shape so i started to run every day and take out the dogs for a walk before or after I came home for work. This was my most peaceful month. I didn’t know once the following weeks rolled in, peaceful would no longer be in my vocabulary anymore.

JUNE.

I was trying to maintain my somewhat of a social life at this point. I found myself out all night, up all day and finding no time to sleep. I was falling to pieces but skating, my friends, actually doing hood rat thangz with my franz is what kept all the other bad shit out of my head. I knew i wouldn’t be able to keep up with this life after the summer left me, but i tried to milk the sun and the moon for all it was worth until it was over.

JULY - LA & COMIC CON, BITCHES!

It was amazing, horrible, exhausting, exciting, and every other word you can think of. I also can’t wait to do the same thing again next year.

AUGUST

The month of ‘The Batman’.

SEPTEMBER

Dad started calling me his “BATISTA” the infusion of Batgirl & Barista, lol. That pretty much summed up my entire September. Being both. Oh, and going to SPX & hanging out with Lacey! That was very cool too on both accounts.

OCTOBER

Nothing really happened. But the leaves did change.

NOVEMBER

Obama won, the internet went crazy, and .. well, my life stayed the same. I gathered more tattoos and actually finished my chest piece. I didn’t get too crazy.

DECEMBER

Here we are at the very end of the year. My new years resolution for 2012 was to be single for an entire year, and of course, this is the first new years resolution in twenty-seven years of life i actually completed. Not only have i been very single, but i’ve been proud of myself for just “doing me” for an entire year. I’ve never had that selfishness before and even though i look back on the summer nights and winter days of this post and say to myself, ‘man.. having someone would have been nice’ - i really wouldn’t change it. I wouldn’t change this year at all. I work three full time jobs, i try my hardest to spend at least a couple of hours with Rufio with no distractions and still try to maintain a somewhat social life to keep myself grounded. I work a lot. I work more than i should to help support a lot of people in my life. Next year i’m hoping to work less and have more fun. Maybe go to Ireland in the fall. Fuck it, you know i’m going to Ireland in the fall.

Thank you for keeping up with me, and even more thank you’s to all the people who have looked back with me ever since 2010. You guys are phenomenal and i know this years blogging has been less personal, i’m going to try to change that as well. Just have hope in me okay? Rufio and I love you.
